The Challenge

Pixio Gaming needed a steady stream of high quality product videos to launch and market new gaming monitors, monitor stands, and accessories, on a schedule that matched their product release cadence rather than a single one-off deliverable. Each new monitor came with its own creative brief, storyboard, and set of technical features (refresh rates, viewing angles, OLED panels) that had to be communicated clearly and attractively on screen. The relationship needed to scale from a single video into a recurring production pipeline the client could rely on release after release.

Our Process

The partnership began in early 2021 with a single product video and grew from there almost entirely through repeat requests. Each new project followed a consistent rhythm: the client sent a creative brief, storyboard, and 3D assets (often via Dropbox); our team proposed concepts, sometimes brainstorming multiple art directions and music tracks before locking one in; we delivered rough storyboard animatics first, to nail timing, pacing, and music sync before investing in full quality rendering; and once the animatic was approved, we moved to full 4K rendering and final delivery.

As trust built, the scope expanded well beyond single videos. Over the following three years the work grew to include:

  • New monitor launches: PXC325, PX259 Prime S, PX273 Prime, PXC277, PXC279, PX277 Pro, PXC348C, PX274 Prime, PX275C Prime, PX277 OLED Max, and PX277 Prime Neo, among others
  • Refreshed and recreated videos for older products (PX248 Prime Advanced, PX277 Prime) using updated 3D models or removing on-screen text for regional versions
  • New product categories, including monitor stands (single and dual)
  • Supporting assets, like desk render images without monitors on screen, and blank/textless video variants for localization

Because the client often reused proven storyboards for new products, changing only the theme, color palette, or on-screen text, projects could move quickly once a template was established. When ambiguity came up (for example, mismatched product numbers in a request) we caught it early by clarifying directly with the client before starting production, avoiding wasted rendering time.

The relationship wasn’t without friction. At one point the client questioned an invoice that ran higher than their original estimate, and pointed to a timeline of the actual back and forth on a project as the reason. We worked through the disagreement directly and transparently, using the actual project history to explain the added scope, which kept the relationship intact and the work continued for years afterward.

The Result

What started as a single product video grew into a production relationship that spanned more than three years and roughly two dozen individual deliverables, videos, animatics, and renders, timed to the client’s own product launch calendar. At points the workload was large enough that our team assigned multiple people to work on videos in parallel to keep pace with Pixio’s release schedule. The collaboration wrapped up in mid-2024, closing out a multi-year partnership that carried the brand through several product generations.

Why It Worked

  • A repeatable pipeline: Storyboard, then animatic, then final render, gave both sides a predictable process that scaled cleanly from one video to dozens.
  • Reusing what worked: Letting proven storyboards and templates carry over to new products sped up turnaround without sacrificing quality.
  • Direct, transparent communication: Catching mismatched details early and addressing billing disagreements with clear project history kept a multi-year relationship on track through the occasional rough patch.
  • Flexibility beyond the core deliverable: Textless variants, desk renders without product overlays, and updated 3D models for older videos turned small requests into an expanding scope of work.
